JUNE GRADUATION

Another great day for students, families, friends , teachers and mentors: celebrating Peer Groups 54 and 56 graduation from MBA emotional growth curriculum.

Adrian Michael A.

“During my stay at Mt. Bachelor, I am most proud of changing into a confident young man, building relationships with my family, and working with my addictions.  My most memorable moments here were facilitating the Promise, going on Camp Classroom and just the amazing friendships and relationships I’ve had. After graduation I am returning home to work for the summer and then I will be continuing on to college.  My dream is to help people in situations similar to mine and teach the world around me.”

Michael Dean B.

“During my stay here at MBA, I am the most proud of deciding to stay sober, rebuilding the relationship with my family, and rekindling my love for the outdoors.  Some of the best times that I have had here are playing Ultimate Frisbee, running with the Runner’s Club and Cross Country team, and backrooming two Bridge Lifesteps. After graduation, I plan to spend the summer camping, working, and spending time with my family before I attend Bishop Kelly High School to finish my senior year.  I then hope to go to the University of British Columbia, where I will study architecture, and outdoor recreation.”

Matthew Adam C.

“While attending Mount Bachelor Academy I have realized the importance of my family and the friends that I choose to surround myself with. I found the most important events to be Intervention, my Promise and Venture Lifesteps and Camp Classroom.  After MBA, I will be traveling to Peru with my father to do community service in a village, be a counselor at a summer camp, and getting a job.  In the fall I will be attending Santa Monica Community College.”

Ilana Morhaime G.

“During my stay I have rekindled relationships and created new healthy ones. I am proud of making it through the Venture Lifestep, as it has been my major turning point here.  I can honestly say that today before you, you see a strong confident, happy young woman.  Following graduation I am going back to Seattle to live with my mom.  This summer I will be a camp counselor at Camp Miriam in Canada.  Starting in September, I will finish high school at BCC and plan on attending medical school soon after. I leave here ready to take on the world and find it’s many pleasures.”

Travis Lee H.

“Over the past 17 months away from home I have learned a lot about myself and the world.  Even though I may not have enjoyed my whole stay I know that it was for the best.  My biggest accomplishments were completing the Intervention and making it through my second Promise.  The biggest lesson that I learned while at MBA was to not regret your failures in life but instead look at them as a learning experience. After leaving MBA I am going back home to Kansas City, Missouri. I will play a lot of soccer this summer and I might have enough time to squeeze in a job.  In the fall I will return to my original high school to finish my senior year. Thank you!”

“During my battle at MBA, I suddenly gave in and I am proud of that. But I am most proud of making it through Intervention and being one of the three last original PG 54 left.  When I return home I am going to work during the summer making bank. I will graduate from San Jose High in 2008. I will go to college and most likely major in psychology. Peace. Sr. Meow Out.”

Sarah Elizabeth L.

“During my stay at MBA I accomplished many things such as becoming my own person and loving myself for who I am. When I return home I will be searching for a job and taking summer courses.  I will be a junior and in September I will go to Haviton. After high school I will attend Portland State University where I am going to become a nurse or a surgeon”

Stephen Christopher M.

“Over the course of the past two years, I have developed from a sad, lonely person to a person of honesty, compassion, integrity and service. My fondest memories at MBA are facilitating boy’s intervention, the Promise Lifestep, and making deep, meaningful friendships along the way.  Following graduation, I will be returning home for a short while, where I will be getting a job and spending long overdue time with my family.  In the fall, I will be enrolled at Stockton College in New Jersey, where I will major in business administration and minor in political science.”

Caitlin Mary McC.

“During my stay here at Mount Bachelor Academy, I have come to learn what the meaning of true friendship is and believing that I am a strong and powerful young woman.  The Promise Lifestep was my turning point. I worked on how being ashamed got in the way of having purpose and it gave me the opportunity to find the strength and hope in life and pride within myself.  After MBA I will be vacationing with my family and enjoying the summer with my friends.  When I graduate from high school I plan to travel the world and someday work in a field where I get to help people and the environment.”

Andrew McKinley M.

“I am most proud of my Venture, my new sense of confidence, and better social skills.  I will be retuning to Frederick to live with my family and go through my senior year.  I plan to go to art school and work as a photographer for National Geographic.  I also plan to travel to many different countries. I leave MBA with new tools that I must use in order to succeed in life.”

Alexander Edward S.

“While being at Mount Bachelor Academy I have realized and learned countless things that have changed my life and that are going to help me in the real world when I leave. I am most proud of becoming a man, one that is real, humble, and is true to himself.  A man that comes from his heart and has true morals with everything that he does and does not care if people disagree with him because he knows what he did was the right thing.  A man who does not need praise when he does something good because he knows what he did was right inside and that is all that matters.  The man that my dad is and has always been, and I want to be as well.  Intervention was the best 8 days of my life and I will never forget it.  When I get home I am going to hopefully get a job in construction with my sister’s fiancé or with Precision Wireless and start school at Sacramento City College in August.”

Justina Florence S.

“Throughout my stay at MBA I am most proud of accomplishing Intervention, graduating from Wilderness, and facilitating the Promise Lifestep.  After MBA I’ll be traveling the world and will start college next September.”

Sara Jane T.

“I am most proud of facilitating the Forever Young Lifestep, completing the Venture Lifestep and my rekindled passion for life.  After MBA, I will be going on a NOLS Course in the Rocky Mountains that starts in July.  Then I will be completing high school in the fall through online courses, before going to community college and then to a university to study art and/or environmental science.”

Noah Lee W.

“During my stay at Mount Bachelor Academy I am most proud of regaining trust with my family, completing intervention and becoming a confident, honest young man.  My best times were facilitating the Forever Young and the Promise Lifesteps. Following graduation I will return home and begin community college in the fall.”
