    Siobhan McN.

Siobhan, age 18, is very proud of the changes she has made at MBA and truly believes she has earned her graduation by overcoming the many challenges that she has had during her time here.  Her Intervention was one the hardest, and she is glad she didn’t give up on herself.  Her Venture Lifestep was a huge turning point in her life.  She will now return to Pacific Grove, California where she will live with her dad and sister and work for the summer.  In the fall she will attend City College of San Francisco.

John M.

At age 17, John is most proud of the relationships he has built since he has been here.  He has a better relationship with his family and he has made great friends at MBA.  After graduating, John will spend some time with his family and then return to MBA to complete his high school credits.

 Jeffrey N.

Jeff, age 16, is glad to have reestablished a good relationship with his family.  He has worked hard on his academics and is proud to have met the challenges that have come his way at MBAWhen Jeff returns home he plans to spend time with his friends and family before beginning classes at Fort Bend Baptist Academy where he will complete his junior and senior year of high school.

                                                                                                               Evan R.

Evan is 15 years old. He now has the tools he needs to live a more peaceful life.  He is proud to have completed the program.  He is looking forward to spending the summer at home with his family.  He plans to get a job, start a band and spend time with his friends.  He is going to start his junior year at Happy Valley School in Ojai, California.

                                                                                                               Eric R.

Eric, age 18, is proud to finish his program and high school at MBA.  It was difficult for him to stay, but he has made many changes in his life and has overcome many obstacles while he was here.  He is going to return home where he will work and help out at home with his mother and sister.  He will attend San Francisco Community College in August.

                                                                                                                Eve S.

Eve is 18 years old. She has gained a lot of self-respect and confidence during her stay at MBA.   She is proud to know that she can overcome any obstacle that comes into her life, especially because of her experiences in Intervention and Venture.  She is happy to have developed a closer relationship with her parents.  After spending a short time with family and friends, she will be going as an exchange student to Thailand with AFS for 10 months.  When she returns home, she will attend a four-year college on the east coast.

Patrick S.

Patrick, 18 years old, is proud to have facilitated Venture because it allowed him a leadership role in his community.  His Intervention showed him that he could overcome difficulties.  His venture allowed him to be able to live his work.  He will spend the summer enjoying his family and working at a golf course.  In the fall he will attend Green River Community College in Auburn.  He wishes to transfer to WSU to study to become an air traffic controller, play football, and golf. 

Marissa S.

Marissa, age 18, has facilitated a Promise, where she could give back to others what she, herself, gained from it.  Her experiences with Shakespeare Classroom reconnected her with acting.  She has completed high school.  After she spends the summer with friends and family and working a summer job, she plans to attend Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.  She will study business management and hopes to own her own restaurant one day. 

 

Trenton S.

Trent is 16.  He is proud of the work that he has done at MBA.  He has learned to love himself and rise and meet the challenges that come into his life.  Trent plans to continue his education at Lincoln High School in central California.  He hopes to attend the Academy of Arts after graduating high school to prepare for a career in the film industry.

Robert ‘Bert’ W.

Burt, age 18, has established better relationships with his family and friends.  He is proud to have stayed past his eighteenth birthday in order to complete what he had started.   Bert leaves MBA as a program and high school graduate.  He hopes to go on to college to become a Special Education Teacher.

John W.

John is 18 years old.  He is proud of the work he did in his Promise and that he could give back by facilitating the lifestep for others. He is excited to be graduating from high school, something John felt he might never be able to accomplish.  He has also pushed himself physically by lifting weights, by wrestling, and by learning Karate.  John will return home, spend time with his family, and work the land. In the fall, he will attend Landmark College in Vermont.  He wishes to transfer to a four- year college where he will major in Physics.  He wants to join the Marine ROTC program and later become a fighter pilot.   

ALUMNI SPOT

 OLIVER ASSIRAN  1994 MBA alumni is  a filmmaker in Philadelphia. His second feature film,   FLOGGING MARGARET , was chosen at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. MBA staff and friends Alex Bitz and Kori Kuaana joined Oliver and alumni Cheyenne H. and Dave S. for a weekend of fun. Also Oliver invited Alex to join him shooting a music video for a local band.
