    GRADUATION PEER GROUP 45-46

“Aim For Success, not perfection.  Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.”

Dr. David M. Burns

Gregory F.

Greg, age 18, has attained his goals of completing the program early and of finishing high school.  He is most proud of his work in the PromiseĀ®  “because that was when I started to become the man I am today.”  After graduation Greg will be retuning to Maryland.  He will spend the summer with family and friends while working at a restaurant in town.  In September he will attend Howard Community College and then transfer to a 4-year college on the east coast.

Joshua G.

Josh, 18 years old, is excited to be graduating from high school, an accomplishment that he didn’t think was possible before he attended MBA.  He is most proud of his work in his Intervention because it showed him that he is very capable of doing whatever he wants to do.  It helped him to become a strong, confident young man.  While at MBA, he was reunited with his birth father and hopes to continue a relationship with him.  His immediate plans are to spend time with family and friends, work part time, and take a small vacation with his dad.   His school plans include enrolling into a trade school and joining the Electricians’ Union.

Jesse K.

Jesse is 18.  He is very proud to have finished high school and is looking forward to attending college at Landmark Junior College in the fall.  His Intervention was one of the hardest things he has ever had to go through, but it has given him the inner strength to accomplish so much.  The La Mancha Lifestep helped him to connect to his roots and heritage.  His experiences from La Mancha taught him to “think outside the box.”  He plans to work construction in Toronto over the summer with his best friend before college.

Amy K.

Amy, age 17, is not only proud of herself for completing the program at MBA, but she is more accomplished for having gone through her Intervention.  Even though it was the hardest thing she has ever done in her life, she has grown so much from it and glad she did what she did for herself.  She has made very close friends at MBA and those relationships have given her the strength to make many new friends in her future.  Amy plans to return to MBA to complete high school credits by December.  She wants to go to college the following fall and will spend the time in between enjoying her family and working.

Matthew K.

Matt is 18 and has accomplished much during his stay at MBA.  He now has a connected relationship with his parents, which he cherishes. He has made many good friends who have taught him how to care and trust in others, and he now has a deeper understanding of himself.  After graduating, and reconnecting with his family, he is going to live with his mother in South Port, Connecticut where he will be attending Norwalk Community College.
