SPRINGTIME!!!!
Spring
weather caught up with us late this season but the overcast days
didn’t prevent students and staff members from participating
in a full schedule of workshops and educational activities.
Lifesteps
The
Lifesteps at MBA are at the heart of the program. Students
make great strides from being in them personally and those who
have already been through a Lifestep love to support their friends
as they go through the workshops. This spring, students
participated in a Bridge and Promise in April, and Peer Group
52 had their Forever Young (see photos). Also from now to June
graduation the schedule is has every weekend busy with lifesteps.
Pole
Barn Gym
We’ve
had some greatly anticipated construction on campus in the form
of a behemoth pole barn structure which will serve as a full
court gymnasium and workout area. The building should be
completed this June and ready for use.
Shakespeare
Trip
This
spring, students and several staff members traveled to Ashland,
Oregon to participate in a four day intensive with a world renowned
group of Shakespearean Actors. They attended several plays,
had a back stage tour, and participated in an acting workshop. This
experiential learning intensive ignites passion for learning
in students and staff members alike.
"I
gained a great deal from my experience on Shakespeare Classroom. Not
only did
I have a great time, but I also got to learn things that I
hadn't known before. I
loved being able to perform and learn at the same time. After
this experience, I rekindled my desire to be part of the theater
world and
now have more motivation toward becoming an actor. This
trip was such a great
experience. I am so glad I was able to be a part of it." Mike

Dorm
heads: the hardest job on campus!!!
Mentors
Red Ashcraft and Krystal Myers are MBA’s stellar dorm supervisors. They
work hard to maintain the high dorm standards. After an
afternoon group session with the student dorm heads to review
and reinforce student leadership on campus, they relax to enjoy
life’s sweetness at the local Diary Queen.
