CROSS COUNTRY TEAM

The Cross-Country team has had a great turnout this year thanks in large part to Morgan Davis’s runners club. The runners club meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings and the Cross-Country team practices Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Boone Nicholson coaches the team and he is very proud of all the participants. As you might imagine, the running is quite challenging around the school with lots of hill climbs, some at over 5000 feet. Most of the kids have completed a 6-mile loop that includes over 1000 feet of elevation gain.

We have had three meets so far including the Mud and Blood 5K trail run at Shevlin Park in Bend, the Madras Invitational, and the Puma Classic in Bend. Our next meet is in La Pine on Tuesday 10/10//06 and our final meet is the Crook County Invitational in Prineville on 10/19/06.

Our team consists of Molly Gallivan, Courtney Smith-Stanfield, Megan Johnson, Amber Dole, Justina Swart, Steve Niggeman, Andrew Friedman, Kevin McCart, Mike Brokaw, Tyler Crough, Adrian Albi, Pat O’Connor, Vito Fazzio, Nick Roberto, Kalani Ventimiglio, Travis Higginbotham, and Nicholas Devries.


These pictures are from the Puma Classic 5K Cross-Country meet at Drake Park in Bend. Almost forty teams participated from across the Northwest.
