HERE!! (OK...few
days ago it snowed but still the spring is here!!)
 
If we had no winter, the spring would
not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity
would not be so welcome.

SPRING TRAINING
Kinship
Center
In
March, we had a two day visit from staff members from the
Kinship Center, an adoption services center in California. Our
hope is to arrange a collaboration which will provide our
staff members with cutting edge training services to best
work with adopted students and their families. We
look forward to working with the Kinship Center in the
near future.
Motivational
Interviewing Training
Wednesday,
April 13, program staff members and mangers of Mount Bachelor
Academy participated in a full day training in motivational
interviewing technique (MI). This important therapeutic
technique meets the students where they are and engages
them in a process for change. It is recognized as
evidence based practice (empirically proven as effective)
for working with issues of drug and alcohol and other behavioral
addictions. We were able to identify multiple areas where
it has excellent application in our work with students
and will be integrating it with our other methods.
FOREVER
YOUNG Peer Group 43
This week end Peer Group 43 went
through their Forever Young workshop. Join them were three of the new
students who arrived from Cedu School. The workshop was led by Kori
Kuana, Alex Bitz , Emma JB and Gustavo I.

by a group of her friends.

Golf Team finished a fun season … Cross Country
Team is training. All these on top of our daily
school schedule.
