Local restaurant  I ( Alex B.) recommend: BARNEY PRINES . After years of suffering (!), Prineville got its first quality  restaurant. It opened a few month ago and this steak house is located on 380 N Main, turn right (when coming from MBA) at the stoplight, in the middle of the town, first block on your right.

Local grab -a -bite -and -support -a -family -business is TACOS MORALES . Tell them that Alex  and Bill sent you. It is a mom and pop (in fact, two brothers!) mexican place with fresh, simple food. It is next to Best Western.

GRADUATION for PEER GROUP 34 and 35

Peer groups 34 and 35 celebrated their completion of Mount Bachelor Academy's Emotional Growth Curriculum . Friends, family and MBA staff members and students were inspired by their speeches and wished them well. The graduates chose this quote to reflect their journey at Mount Bachelor Academy : "Live life as though you will die tomorrow and dream as though you will live forever"

CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAYS

Christmas Eve, Mount Bachelor Academy staff members and students made presents for their friends and family members and ornaments for the tree, played tag football in Prineville, took goodies to the elderly in the local care home, and finished off the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.  We then gathered after dinner in our jammys for a reading of The Night Before Christmas and the opening of gifts from loving and thoughtful family members. We ended the night with cookies from Cate Devlin’s kitchen, milk, and a Closing by Jim Churchill-Dicks where the kids remembered their younger siblings at home.  It was a colorful tapestry woven with warm memories of home, longing to turn back time, enjoying the company of friends now, and a renewed hope for the future.

Next week will be a second week of Alternative Curriculum Week (ACW) with some of the Phase III students still at home and the rest of us doing activities on and off campus.

SNOW TIME

Just few days before the New Year, snow came down over Central Oregon. We hope to use the last week of no school to enjoy it.
